FACTBOX-Security developments in Afghanistan, Dec 28

Dec 28 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Afghanistan at 1500 GMT on Monday:

BAGHDIS - Some 15 Taliban and 3 Afghan police have been killed since Sunday in intermittent clashes between the two sides in Bala Morghab district, near the Turkmen border, provincial police chief Sayed Ahmad told Reuters.

NATO-led forces also said they were attacked by around 60 insurgents when they began an operation on Sunday to secure Afghan National Security Force outposts in the Bala Morghab area. They did not report any casualties.

KUNAR - Military operations in Narang district of northeast Kunar province on Saturday night are reported to have killed 10 civilians, including at least one school student, the provincial governor and the office of President Hamid Karzai said on Monday. [ID:nSGE5BR082]

NATO-led forces in Afghanistan said they would look into the reports but declined immediate comment.
