Dec 27 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Afghanistan at 0925 GMT on Sunday:

SOUTHERN AFGHANISTAN - A U.S. service member working for the NATO-led force was killed by a roadside bomb in the south of the country on Saturday, the alliance said.

ZABUL - The NATO-led force said it killed "several" militants in a joint operation with Afghan troops in Jaldak district of southern Zabul province. It did not say how many insurgents died.

The Taliban were not immediately available for comment and Reuters could not independently verify the reports.
