Summary:

  • Out of 435 functional sentinel sites, 434 (99.5%) have submitted reports this week.

  • Out of a total of 411,112 new consultations (172,731 male, 238,381 female) this week, 34.1% or 140,341 (66,893 male, 73,448 female) consultations were reported due to DEWS targeted diseases.

  • Main causes of consultations in this week were Acute Diarrheal Diseases, 31,604 cases (7.6% out of total new consultations) and Pneumonia, 15393 cases (3.7% out of total new consultations).

  • A total of 232 deaths were reported this week, of which 65 were due to DEWS targeted diseases, which includes 38 Pneumonia deaths, 13 Meningitis/SIC deaths, 8 Measles death and 6 Acute Diarrheal Diseases deaths.

  • Total of 7 outbreaks reported this week; of which 6 were suspected Measles outbreaks reported from Paktika, Paktya and Laghman provinces, a suspected Food Poisoning outbreak reported from Hirat province.
