Summary:

  • Out of 424 functional sentinel sites, 423 (99.7%) have submitted reports this week.

  • Out of a total of 344,858 new consultations (147,067 male, 197,791 female) this week, 34.7% or 119,602 (57,401 male, 62,201 female) consultations were reported due to DEWS targeted diseases.

  • Main causes of consultations in this week were Acute Diarrheal Diseases, 23,744 cases (6.8% out of total new consultations) and Pneumonia, 14,893 cases (4.3% out of total new consultations).

  • A total of 196 deaths were reported this week, of which 55 were due to DEWS targeted diseases, which includes 38 Pneumonia deaths, 12 Meningitis/SIC deaths, 3 diarrheal diseases deaths and 2 Measles deaths.

  • Total of 6 outbreaks reported this week; of which all were suspected Measles outbreaks reported from Paktika, Khost, Laghman and Badghis provinces.
