Summary:

  • Out of 423 functional sentinel sites, 422 (99.7%) have submitted reports this week.

  • Out of a total of 373,105 new consultations (158,410 male, 214,695 female) this week, 35.9% or 133,976 (63,932 male, 70,044 female) consultations were reported due to DEWS targeted diseases.

  • Main causes of consultations in this week were Acute Diarrheal Diseases, 24,214 cases (6.4% out of total new consultations) and Pneumonia, 16,921 cases (4.5% out of total new consultations).

  • A total of 236 deaths were reported this week, of which 63 were due to DEWS targeted diseases, which includes 50 Pneumonia deaths, 8 Meningitis/SIC deaths and 5 Measles deaths.

  • Total of 9 outbreaks reported this week, of which all were suspected Measles outbreaks reported from Kandahar, Kunar, Hirat, Khost, Paktya, Ghazni and Paktika provinces.
