QALA I KUNA, Afghanistan (April 24, 2011) –In Qala I Kuna village lessons have finally started in the female school inaugurated last January after Task Force South East soldiers rebuilt the school.

School “BIBI DOST”, a unique female institute of the Gulistan valley, was left unused until now because people were scared of violent extremist reprisal.

Regional Command West’s parachutists have endeavoured to create a safe environment that allows Gulistan people to send their children to school, giving the girls big hopes for their future.

The school has about 200 students, an impressive number considering that just few days ago it was deserted.

This episode is another demonstration of local government’s trust in the ANSF and their greater attention to civil right.
