Child Protection (CP) actors in the Afghanistan reached 302,346 distinct beneficiaries who include (boys: 37,161 & girls: 21,884) with CP services in July 2024. This includes 15,825 beneficiaries who received structed PSS out of which 433 were referred for specialized psychosocial and mental health support services. 2,761 unaccompanied/separated minors and children facing other protection risks received case management and reintegration services, while 35,018 children/adolescents/men & women were sensitized on child protection issues. Furthermore, 6,295 humanitarian workers including social workers & community volunteers were trained on Child Protection support services. 242,447 individuals were reached messaging on Child Protection through with mass media such Radio, TV, WhatsApp etc.
FUNDING: By February, CP AoR HRP funding requirements is 53% funded, even though only UN and 4 NGOs have reported their funding data by then.
NOTE: The continuous ban on National female staff working for NGOs which came into effect on 24th Dec 2022 continues to affect the implementation of activities till this moment. As a result, our achievements are negatively impacted especially reach to children and women. However, all possible operational adaptation modalities are still being explored and put in place to sustain the implementation of activities including integration with education and health facilities and use of virtual or remote approaches for delivering case management and PSS.
