2. Context

At the beginning of January 2021 due to ongoing clashes between ANSF and AOGs across the Northeast, hundreds of people were displaced from different districts of Takhar province. Takhar is also one of the strategic locations for AOG. AOGs have increased their attacks to military bases to expand their operational areas. The alert was raised by DoRR on 06 February 2021 stating that around 310 households submitted their petitions to DoRR. An OCT meeting was held on 08 February 2021 to update partners about the ongoing crisis and screen the newly collected petitions. Although, four Joint Assessment Teams (JATs) formed by ACTED, DACAAR, CONCERN WW, WAW/UNHCR, IDS/WFP, and Local DoRR to conduct the assessment under caseload D-127. The assessment was conducted between 10 February to 18February 2021 and a total of 310 households were initially prescreened and 49 households were identified as potentially eligible to receive humanitarian assistance. Following the data analysis process, 49 households were found eligible to receive lifesaving assistance. Based on OCHA’s field coordination, it was agreed that WFP will cover the needs of food for two months, the NFI will cover the ES/NFI cluster for 49 households, while DACAAR will provide WASH package for 49 households.
