The Afghanistan Humanitarian Needs and Response Plan for 2024 identified key challenges for returnees, including protection risks, lack of shelter and housing, limited livelihood opportunities, restricted access to basic services like healthcare and education, legal and documentation issues, difficulties in social integration, educational gaps, specific healthcare needs, increased demand on limited resources, and the impacts of uncertain political and security situation. Almost 932.7K people have returned from neighbouring countries to Afghanistan so far this year including 826.0K people from Iran, and 106.7K people from Pakistan, while a small number also returned from other countires.
