2. Finding And Recommendations in Brief

Due to the recent heavy snow fall and harsh temperatures in Shebirghan city of Jawzjan province, canals and streams got frozen and water routes diverted causing flood to inhabited areas. In addition, heavy snow fall also damaged some shelters. Based on below picture several houses were damaged and around 14 HHs were affected. On 29 December 2020, Jawzjan ANDMA raised an alert that due to the flooding some households were affected in Hekmat Abad and Sakhi Abad villages of Shebirghan city and their houses were totally or partially damaged. Some HHs were displaced to their neighbors houses while others were not displaced but they lost their food stock and NFI and are living next to the damaged shelters. As initial action, ANDMA distributed some food items and NFI from governmental stock and at the same time requested humanitarian partners to provide further lifesaving assistances to affected families. On 3 January 2021 a PDMC meeting launched in ANDMA office including several humanitarian partners discussed the aforementioned case and head of ANDMA requested humanitarian partners to quickly conduct a household level assessment. The JAT conducted the assessment between 03 January 2021 and 05 January 2021. Based on HEAT assessment result, 14 HHs were found potentially eligible to receive urgent humanitarian assistance out of 49 visited households. As team reported overall due to high temperature of cold weather the living condition of affected people are not good. According to the findings of the HEAT, many IDPs are struggling to meet their basic needs and were found eligible to receive ERM assistance.

The main challenge of this delay was that ACTED has shared the data with DACAAR on 11th.Jan.2021and we did re-assessment for wash activities on 12th.Jan.2021 however the caseload was closed on 5th.Jan. 2021it means that data has delayed for 6 days after completion of assessment.
