2. Context
OCHA called all humanitarian organizations active in Paktya province for an OCT meeting in the Paktya DoRR office on (09-Feb-21) to discuss the arrival of around 763 reportedly IDP households from different insecure districts of Paktya and some neighboring provinces into Gardez district. The meeting members reviewed the lists of IDPs and it was decided that 535 households who have settled in Gardez district will be assessed by DACAAR, WSTA, IRC, and DoRR; and 228 households who had settled in the AOG controlled areas were given to ARCS for assessment and response. Joint assessment teams of DACAAR, WSTA, IRC & DoRR started their assessment in the Gardez district shortly after the OCT meeting ended; the teams went door to door and had interviews with the household heads and with their household members. After assessing all 535 households, the teams finally found 102 eligible IDP households who had been displaced during the last three months from different insecure districts of Paktya and some neighboring provinces due to ongoing and active conflicts between the AOGs (Taliban) and ANSF and have now settled in different secure areas of Gardez district.
The remaining 433 households that were assessed were rejected by joint teams because they did not meet the ERM eligibility criteria for different reasons.
DACAAR has divided 15 large households whose individuals were more than 10 persons into 2 families for proper coverage of their WASH needs, so for DACAAR's WASH assistance; the total number of families in this caseload is 117 families or 102 households.
