I have the honour to inform you that the Hungarian Parliament has decided, pursuant to Security Council resolution 1386 (2001), to contribute to the implementation of the tasks of the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan by sending a medical unit consisting of up to 50 personnel. The mandate of the Hungarian unit has been authorized for six months or, at a maximum, until 31 December 2003. The arrangements for the participation of the Hungarian unit will be made in consultation with the leadership of the Force.

I should be grateful if the present letter could be circulated as a document of the Security Council.
