The Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) remains one of the challenging development issues in Afghanistan. Limited access and poor services to WASH means a significant burden of poor health, nutrition, education and protection for children and women. The Humanitarian Response Plan (HRP 2019) has envisaged and targeted to reach 1.3 million people with WASH services in 2019. The Cluster partners have successfully surpassed and reached 1,389,924 people (107%) by the end of December 2019 with over 36 million USD funding commitment including 10.87 million carry over funds from 2018.
