Against a backdrop of persistent humanitarian needs, the returnee crisis, earthquakes, recurrent climate-related shocks, and increasingly constrained resources, the AHF continues to play a critical role in ensuring that life-saving assistance reaches the most vulnerable women, men, girls and boys across the country. Through its flexible funding modalities and robust governance arrangements, the Fund supports rapid response, anticipatory action, and sustained humanitarian programming in line with the priorities of the Humanitarian Needs and Response Plan (HNRP).

In 2025, through eight targeted allocations, the AHF channeled US$73.5 million in a timely and strategic manner to address both sudden-onset shocks and
protracted humanitarian needs. These allocations enabled life-saving assistance to reach millions of people across Afghanistan, with particular attention
to populations most affected by cross-border displacement, climate-related shocks and natural disasters.
