Incidents Update:
During the reporting period nine natural disaster incidents were reported.
Central Region:
Kabul Province: On the 23rd of March, as per initial reports from Kabul ANDMA, as a result of heavy rainfall several families were reportedly affected in District 13, 6, 15 and 5 (Dasht e Barchi (Gul Khana), Khwaja Bughra, Dasht e Barchi (Qala Jabarkhan), Dehmazang). A joint assessment team (IOM, ANDMA, WFP, CARE, and CDC) initiated an assessment on the 24th of March which continued tillthe 25th of March. 81 families were verified in need of NFIs, emergency shelter and food items. IOM will provide family revitalisation kit, and WFP will provide food items. CARE International has committed to provide 26 tents to the families whose houses were completely destroyed. The distribution willtake place on Sunday, the 31st of March.
Parwan Province: As per initial information, 67 families have been reportedly affected by heavy rainfall in six districts of the province (Jabalussaraj, Chaharikar, Salang, Shinwari, Sia Gird, Sayd Khel). The joint assessment team consisted of IOM, ANDMA, WFP, CARE, UNICEF, and a Provincial government representative started the assessment of the affected districts on the 27th of March. Once the assessment finalised, the findings will be shared with IOM partners.
