2. Context
Active conflict between ANSF and AOGs caused displacement of innocent Afghan people in Lashkar Gah, Nad Ali and Nahr e Seraje districts of Helmand, many of families have also been displaced form Nawa district due to military operation, DC fire from AF. government side and conflict between AOG and ANSF. They have settled in secure area of Lashkar Gah center of Helmad province.
Joint needs assessment teams conducted JNA from (26 Jan - 25 Feb) 2021 - involving DACAAR, WAW, UNHCR, WFP, HAPA, DoRR and Gov representative, no any one family has been selected on 26th Jan 2021. And WASH re-assessment was completed on 02 Mar 2021. The Joint Needs Assessment (JNA) teams found 230 families as eligible beneficiaries and recommended them for humanitarian assistance. According to HEAT Database, the average family size of 230 families is 6 persons per family.
The IDP families are living in secure area and they have access to some basic services like public hospital, local market, social agencies (Human Right Commission, General attorney and Police stations), schools but due to poverty, they are not able to go to school and afford their daily needs.
During the assessment no proper household items were seen around them thus, they are suffering due to lack of Food, NFI, WASH, Shelter, MPCA and other supplementary items. Therefore, the assessment team recommended them for emergency humanitarian assistance.
