In the month of September, 47 Health Cluster partners reached 854,095 people with humanitarian health services through 993 health facilities in 322 districts of all 34 provinces.
As of 30 September 2024, Health Cluster partners provided health services to a total of 613,914 returnees. The beneficiaries included 222,314 women, 201,569 men, 101,869 girls, and 88,162 boys. Of the total beneficiaries, 288,748 individuals received primary health care consultations, 27,499 received secondary health care services, 210,241 were reached through health promotion activities, 39,186 received MNCH services, 47,282 received MHPSS services, and 958 received trauma care services.
Among all age groups, the primary causes of morbidity were acute respiratory infections (ARI) and acute watery diarrhea disease, representing 29 per cent of total consultations.
In September 2024, a total of 1,169 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 7 associated deaths with the Case Fatality Rate (CFR) of 0.6% were reported from 34 provinces compared to 682 confirmed cases and 8 deaths in August 2024. Since February 2020, at least 241,756 COVID-19 cases with a total of 8,034 deaths were reported from 34 provinces. The Case Fatality Rate (CFR) is 3.3 per cent.
In this period under review, 4,155 new suspected measles cases were reported, resulting in 18 deaths. This shows a 34.4 per cent increase in the number of cases compared to the previous month (28.2%). In 2024, a total of 52,539 measles suspected cases with 237 associated deaths were reported.
In September 2024, WHO provided 3,389 emergency medical kits to 101 health facilities in 20 provinces which will benefit around 463,500 individuals in the next 3 months.
