HIGHLIGHTS
In December 2025, 49 Health Cluster partners provided humanitarian health services to 481,750 people. These services were delivered through 891 health facilities in 316 districts, covering all 34 provinces of Afghanistan. Of those As of December 20 2025, a total of 445 health facilities have been suspended or closed by humanitarian partners due to the funding constrients. This disruption is expected to affect approximately 3.08 million people across 30 out of 34 provinces.
During the month of December, the summary of outbreaks includes: 7,969 cases of AWD with dehydration, 183,302 cases of ARI-Pneumonia, 2,095 cases of Measles, 340 cases of Dengue fever, 1,228 cases of Malaria, and 37 cases of CCHF.
During the month of December, a total of 183,302 ARI/pneumonia cases with 352 associated deaths were reported (CFR of 0.2%). This represents 24.6% increase in reported cases compared to the previous month (147,138).
During the month of December, 2,095 new suspected measles cases were reported, resulting in 10 deaths. This shows a 1.5% decrease in the number of cases compared to the previous month (12,126).
During the month of December, 1,228 new suspected malaria cases were reported, with zero deaths. This shows a 74.4% decrease in the number of cases compared to the previous month (4,804).
During the month of December, 340 new Dengue fever cases were reported, with 0 deaths. This shows a 85.6 % decrease in the number of cases compared to the previous month (2,357).
In December 2025, WHO provided 116 emergency medical kits to 9 health facilities in 8 provinces. The medical kits will benefit around 86,550 individuals in the next three months.
