Recent heavy rainfall has brought floods to Maidan Wardak and Logar provinces in eastern Afghanistan, resulting in fatalities and extensive damage to homes, infrastructure, and cropland.
According to media, four people have died, four have been injured, and hundreds of families have been displaced. Around 2,000 people have been affected and have received assistance, while 270 houses have been destroyed and 250 damaged. Additionally, 3,234 ha of cropland has been destroyed and 100 livestock have perished.
Over the next 48 hours, drier conditions are expected over Afghanistan, with only isolated moderate rain over the northeastern provinces.
