Afghanistan Early Warning Update - Report 36, January 8, 2013
In January Early Warning Information Working Group meeting, FEWS-NET, ACF, OCHA, FAO and WFP were in participation. A details report of Agromet is attached to this bulletin.
- From mid December to now temperatures have been averaged below normal which negatively affected IDPs. In the meantime, it helped snow accumulation. In the coming week the temperature will shift back to above normal.
From October 1 to January 10 ,2013 total seasonal precipitation have been below average particularly in north-eastern Afghanistan
There is a significant risk of below average precipitation in the region because of increasing temperatures in the indo-pacific ocean which increase the chance of precipitation in southeast Asia
