Global cereal prices have experienced a downward trend in recent months. However, these prices remain elevated compared to 2021 levels, although significantly lower than the peak prices observed in mid-2022.
In Afghanistan, the prices of imported wheat flour have declined since reaching their peak in June 2022. Currently, the prices have reached a level similar to the prices observed in May 2020. The recent decline in global wheat prices has translated into lower import costs for Afghanistan, enabling a decrease in the price of imported wheat flour.
