• The UN 2025 HNRP estimates that 22.9 million people—nearly one-half of the population—will require humanitarian assistance in Afghanistan during the year.

• Approximately 14.8 million people are expected to face Crisis—IPC 3—or worse levels of acute food insecurity countrywide between November 2024 and March 2025, according to a January IPC analysis.

• With USAID/BHA support, WFP reached approximately 1 million people across Afghanistan with critically required food assistance during November 2024.
