KANDAHAR, Afghanistan (December 17) - Representatives from hospitals across southern Afghanistan met at Kandahar Regional Military Hospital (KRMH) on December 12 to review the procedures in place for emergency medical care in the region.
The representatives noted the progress made at KRMH and how well the medical staff work together.
"All the folks were really impressed by the infrastructure, the equipment, and the Afghan military surgeons and health providers," said Maj. Graham Johnson, Medical Planner for Regional Command (South).
The Afghan and ISAF medical representatives now have a better understanding of each other's capabilities and procedures, and they have laid the foundation for positive working relationships.
"Everyone [is] better informed and better aware of the capabilities we have," said Maj. Johnson. "It will make for a better working environment and we look forward to further meetings and enhancing our... operations."
Kandahar Regional Military Hospital is located at Camp Hero, the Afghan National Army base near Kandahar City.
