COX’s BAZAR, 19th April, 2018 (WAM) -- The Zayed Al Khair convoys have provided treatment to over 30,000 Rohingya refugees in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, at the Zayed Humanitarian Volunteer Hospital since its launch in September 2017.
Medical relief was provided under the supervision of a specialist medical volunteer team from the UAE and Bangladesh and as part of the Zayed Humanitarian Campaign to treat underprivileged persons, coinciding with the Year of Zayed initiative.
SHABWA, Yemen, 18th April, 2018 (WAM) -- The Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, distributed on Tuesday urgent food and relief aid to families fleeing conflict zones in the Yemeni Governorate of Hodeidah.
The war launched by the Iranian-backed Houthi militates has brought destruction to many houses and public service facilities in the governorate, forcing many families to seek refuge in the district of Rudum in the Shabwa Governorate.
The ERC's relief efforts came in response to calls for help by the displaced, and are part of UAE efforts to relieve the suffering of Yemenis.
ADEN, 18th April, 2018 (WAM) -- The Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, and the Higher Relief Committee of Yemen, have agreed to enhance joint cooperation for relief, social and humanitarian efforts in Yemen.
The announcement was made during a meeting between Dr. Abdul Al-Raqeeb Fath, Yemeni Minister of Local Administration and Chairman of the Higher Relief Committee, and Saeed Al-Ali, Head of the ERC in Aden.
Dr. Fath hailed the substantial humanitarian, relief and social efforts made by the UAE and the ERC in his country.
ABU DHABI, 16th April, 2018 (WAM) -- Management of the UAE-funded Project to Assist Pakistan, UAE PAP, unveiled today the results of the UAE's polio vaccination campaign in Pakistan that started in 2014 until the end of February 2018.
As many as 281,374,70 million anti-polio vaccines were provided to more than 57 million children less than five-year-old.
AMMAN, 15th April, 2018 (WAM) -- During their visit to the Emirati-Jordanian camp in Mrajeeb Al Fhood, Jordan, volunteer doctors from the Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, discussed the launch of psychological support programmes for the camp’s refugees and those affected by wars and disasters.
