13 July 2018 - Newly appointed UN Resident Coordinator, Humanitarian Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative in Ukraine, Ms. Osnat Lubrani paid a first official visit to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and presented her credentials to the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Mr. Sergiy Kyslytsya.
The parties have confirmed the existing high-level cooperation and potential of strengthening the relations between Ukraine and the United Nations on a wide range of issues.
20 June 2018 – There has been no meaningful progress in the human rights situation in the armed conflict zone and other parts of Ukraine, says a report published today by the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine. The report covers the period between 16 February and 15 May 2018.
16 May 2018, Severodonetsk, Luhansk Oblast – A delegation from the Embassy of Japan visited conflict-affected areas in eastern Ukraine on May 15-16 to assess the recovery and development projects implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) with financial support from the Government of Japan.
Since 2014, the Government of Japan has been supporting initiatives implemented by UNDP and UNICEF in Ukraine in response to the humanitarian crisis in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts.
Kyiv, Ukraine (19 February 2018) – In 2018, the Government of Japan, the Government of Ukraine and the United Nations system in Ukraine will continue partnership in addressing humanitarian needs and support recovery in conflict-affected areas of eastern Ukraine. USD 3.6 million of assistance provided by the Government of Japan will be used to address humanitarian needs, support vulnerable groups of population and recovery of eastern regions in Ukraine, through implementation of seven projects by six UN system organizations.
