Share The World's Resources

Description

STWR is a not-for-profit civil society organisation founded in 2003, with Consultative Status at the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations.

Through our research and activities, we aim to educate the public about the need for sharing the world's resources as a pragmatic solution to the interconnected crises that governments are failing to sufficiently address – including hunger, poverty, climate change, environmental degradation and resource-driven conflict.

We have two main objectives as an organisation: firstly, to raise awareness of the critical need for nations to implement an international emergency programme to alleviate mass hunger and poverty, as outlined in many of our past publications. And secondly, to campaign for a united people’s voice that speaks on behalf of the least advantaged members of the human family, giving the highest priority to the prevention of extreme deprivation in every country.

The focus of our educational and campaigning activities concerns Article 25 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which proclaims the right of everyone to an adequate standard of living. As set out in our flagship book, the time has come for unprecedented numbers of people to unite behind a single, peaceful and lawful demand for governments to guarantee Article 25 for every family and individual.
