This Commonwealth Day (12 March) Sightsavers and partners are celebrating the progress being made on eliminating blinding trachoma in Uganda
Trachoma is an excruciating yet treatable eye disease. Globally, 182 million people are at risk of going blind because of trachoma and 1.9 million people are blind or visually impaired because of it. The issue particularly affects the Commonwealth, where 85 million people are affected by poor eye health.

ATLANTA ... Efforts to eliminate blinding trachoma as a public health problem in the West African nations of Mali and Niger will receive US$11.725 million in additional support from the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, to be implemented by The Carter Center, Helen Keller International, and Sightsavers, the organizations announced Wednesday.

Sightsavers has recently been awarded a £30m contract to run a multi-country programme with ten consortium members across six countries. The programme will focus on three thematic areas: Health, Education and Economic Empowerment. The post holder will be responsible for developing and managing robust systems and processes to effectively monitor and manage the financial aspects of the Inclusive by Design commercial contract and all related partner contracts.

Sightsavers has recently been awarded a £30m contract to run a multi-country programme with ten consortium members across six countries. The post-holder will be the Monitoring and Learning technical lead of the programme and report directly to the Associate Programme Director.
