Mercy Hands Europe

Mercy Hands Europe (MHEU) is a women-led non-profit organization based in Geneva, Switzerland. MHEU mission is to uphold dignity, protect human rights, and foster sustainable futures for vulnerable populations affected by conflict through initiatives in protection, education, emergency response, and sustainable livelihoods. MHEU executes its projects through its sister organization, Mercy Hands for Humanitarian Aid in Iraq, the Iraqi NGO and with the Geneva International Center for Justice.

Mercy Hands Europe operate not only in Iraq but also in Syria, Ethiopia, and Ukraine, managing development projects either directly, through field missions, or in collaboration with local partners.

Specifically pertaining to our protection project in Iraq, MHEurope has a lengthy history of activities in the country and strong connections to Iraqi human rights institutions, CSOs, activists, journalists, governmental bodies, and UN bodies. MHEU's extensive knowledge includes understanding the historical, cultural, political, socio-economic context, existing policies, root causes of violations, and strengths/weaknesses of current institutions.
