Globally: The FAO Food Price Index(FFPI) averaged 170.8 points in February 2018, 1.1 percent (1.8 points) higher than in January but 2.7 percent below its value in the corresponding period last year. The FAO Cereal Price Index averaged 160.8 points in February, up 2.5 percent (4 points) from January and 6.8 percent from February 2017. The benchmark US wheat (No.2 Hard Red Winter, f.o.b.) averaging USD 229 per ton, 4 percent up from the previous month and 14 percent higher than in January 2017. (FPMA - FAO Feb. 2017).
