The Cassidy Airport Meteorological Station in Kiritimati Island was officially opened today by His Excellency the Honourable President Taneti Maamau, alongside Building Safety and Resilience in the Pacific (BSRP) Project Manager Mr Taito Nakalevu.

    • Tarawa, and Kanton were in warnings for 3 month and 6 month except Kanton currently in watch for 6 month.

  • Rainfall records show that Butaritari,Beru and Kiritimati are in drought for the 3 months period (affects crops and rainwater tanks) and 6 month periods (affects household wells). Butaritari is also in drought for the12 months period which can affect ground water lens in wells at households.
