Baghdad, October 7, 2018 – The World Bank Group, the Government of Iraq, and the Government of Canada launched today a US$1.95 million grant to support Iraq’s efforts to strengthen systems and deliver programs to empower women economically and politically.

There are 17,997 shelter plots in KR-I hosting 92,401 of persons.

The Government of Iraq’s Joint Coordination and Monitoring Centre (JCMC), in partnership with the international community, is establishing Community Resource Centres (CRCs) to provide services at the community level in areas receiving large numbers of returning internally displaced persons (IDPs).

BAGHDAD, 21 March 2018 – A handover ceremony was held today to mark the completion of the project to “Improve the Impact and Effectiveness of Community Police in the Newly Liberated Areas in Iraq”. The project was funded by the Government of Japan and implemented by the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) in cooperation with the Government of Iraq.
