Informing humanitarians worldwide 24/7 — a service provided by UN OCHA

Global Health Institute at American University of Beirut

Description

AUB’s Global Health Institute was formally established on July 19, 2017 to become the first such institute in the Middle East and North Africa region (MENA), and among the very few in the Global South. GHI portfolio focuses on supporting better health, empowering vulnerable populations and strengthening global health systems to contribute towards a better future.

Strategically based in the MENA region, our vision is not only to contextualize global health, but also to have the voice of the region heard within the global health dialogue. Our core values remain the guiding principles for everything we do towards the well-being of societies and people, especially in our region.

GHI operates through three major divisions: GHI Programs, tackling global health challenges through research, policy and advocacy; GHI Academy, the capacity-building arm of the institute; And GHI ASSIST the service arm that includes our vibrant Non-Governmental Organizations’ Initiative (NGOi).
