Gender in Emergencies Group

Description

The Gender in Emergencies (GiE) Group offers comprehensive training programs to strengthen the capacity of humanitarian responders, gender experts, and workers in emergency settings to address gender-specific needs during crises. These programs combine scenario-based learning, workshops, and case studies to equip participants with practical skills for promoting gender equality and empowering affected communities. Leveraging a custom Learning Management System, the GiE Group provides interactive online training and peer-to-peer review, which are complemented by inperson events. Key topics include Gender Markers and Rapid Gender Analysis, ensuring participants are well-prepared to integrate gender perspectives into emergency responses.

The GiE Group’s trainings are inclusive and accessible to all. Following a Low-No model, the courses are offered at low cost, with a number of no-cost spots reserved for Women’s Rights Organizations from the Global South. This approach ensures that vital gender equality training reaches those who need it most, fostering equitable and effective emergency responses worldwide.
