Description

Direct Aid Association (formerly African Muslims Agency) started its activities in 1981 as a voluntary non-governmental organization interested in developing the most needy places in Africa with its HQ in Kuwait. In the last 4 decades, DA has provided assistance to 30 African countries plus Yemen. Through its development projects and emergency responses activities, it always ensures that aid is sustainable and tailored to the needs of all members of society, aspiring to not only help, but also rather, empower people to generate their income, and rely on their full potential to attain a decent livelihood.

Its programmatic focus lies in education, social and economic development, water and health, emergency relief when needed. Its work is guided by the 2063 Africa Agenda and the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

As stated by the Director General of DA, “Charity to empower humans is our core vision, mission, and value. Challenges motivate us to evolve and create solutions. DA work relies on good governance, the use of technology, and adherence to procedures that bolster social impact in fieldwork.

Economic and Social Council at the United Nations (ECOSOC)

The International Association of Preventive of Blindness (IAPB).

DA joined the Alliance to Fight Avoidable Blindness in 2018 (AFAB) which is lead by the Islamic development bank (IsDB) and Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development (IsFD).

The World Water Council (WWC).

The International council of Voluntary association (ICVA).

The Awqaf Properties Investment Fund (APIF) affiliated with the Islamic development Bank (IsDB).
