During the period of January - June, CSSW carried out a number of disease control activities, such as cholera, diarrhea, diphtheria, dengue fever, malaria, measles and other fever diseases. The target areas were the districts of Sala, al-Mazaffar, and al-Qahira in Taiz Governorate, the districts of Dar Sa’d, al-Mualla, and Shaikh Othman in Aden Governorate, and the districts of Zunjubar, Khanfar and Lawdar in Abyan Governorate.
Out of the belief in the national and humanitarian duty towards our fellow citizens in Al-Mahara Governorate affected by the Cyclone Luban, inflicting human and material damage at all levels and the civilian suffering of displacement and daily hardships in access to basic services such as food and shelter.
The Community Center for IDPs in Marib Governorate held a focus group discussion in Al-Sawabin Camps, Sirawah district. The discussion focused on the educational and health situation, the major problems and obstacles faced by IDPs and the role of the community in this regard.
CSSW in the Capital Sana’a distributed food baskets to dozens of IDP families funded by the Imdad Institution.
Each family received a food package consisting of flour, rice, sugar, cooking oil, and beans. The distribution of such items comes within the food support project implemented by the Sana’a branch and benefiting thousands of IDP families from various governorates.
CSSW implemented an emergency relief project for the displaced and people affected by the conflict in the district of al-Khokha, Hodeidah Governorate.
A source in CSSW stated that dozens of families affected by the conflict benefited from the materials distributed in the villages of Dehyawi and al-Mazare. The materials contributed to alleviate the suffering of poor families and helped them overcome their difficulties in providing basic living necessities.
