LOS ANGELES – In an effort to keep public attention on the ongoing needs of millions of Syrian refugees, International Medical Corps and the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation are launching The Things We Carry, a campaign featuring the children, men and women who have fled six years of war in their country - and what they carried with them to safety.

ATLANTA ... Efforts to eliminate blinding trachoma as a public health problem in the West African nations of Mali and Niger will receive US$11.725 million in additional support from the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, to be implemented by The Carter Center, Helen Keller International, and Sightsavers, the organizations announced Wednesday.
The $1 million Conrad N. Hilton Humanitarian Prize for 2001 was awarded to London's St. Christopher's Hospice. The ceremony to be held in New York City has been postponed due to the tragedy unfolding and it will be rescheduled for later in the fall. St. Christopher's, the world's first teaching hospice, was established in 1967 by Dame Cicely Saunders, known worldwide as the founder of the modern hospice movement.
