The African Leaders Malaria Alliance is a groundbreaking coalition of 49 AFRICAN HEADS OF STATE AND GOVERNMENT working across country and regional borders to eliminate malaria by 2030. We are leveraging our collective knowledge and influence to bring about action and accountability as we fight one of our continent’s most devastating diseases by:

  • Providing a forum to review progress and address challenges in meeting the malaria targets;

  • Implementing a monitoring and accountability system through the ALMA Scorecard for Accountability and Action to track results, identify bottlenecks, and facilitate appropriate action; and

  • Identifying and sharing lessons learned for effective implementation of national programs

Eight countries recognised for efforts to reduce malaria incidence and deaths

ADDIS ABABA, ETHIOPIA (30 January 2017) – At a time of historic progress toward a malaria-free Africa, the African Leaders Malaria Alliance (ALMA) honoured eight African countries that have shown commitment and innovation in the fight against the disease.

Today at the 28th African Union Summit, the 2017 ALMA Awards for Excellence were awarded to:
