Japan - Tropical Cyclones KOMPASU, MINDULLE, LIONROCK
• TC KOMPASU made landfall on 21 August in Hokkaido as Tropical Depression. Over 6 000 people have been evacuated in this island.
• TC MINDULLE made landfall on 22 August in Chiba prefecture as Tropical Storm. Two people have been killed, several have been injured, over 469 000 have been evacuated in Kanagawa prefecture. Over the next 24 h it is forecast to continue moving northeast, weakening but remaining a Tropical Storm.
• TC LIONROCK is moving over the north-west Pacific Ocean, strengthening. On 22 August at 6.00 UTC its center was located 340 km east of Kikajima (Amami Islands). Over the next 48 h heavy rain and strong winds may affect Ryukyu Islands.

VIETNAM, CHINA - TROPICAL CYCLONE DIANMU
• TC DIANMU caused several casualties and damage over 19 - 20 August.
• Vietnam: seven dead, three people injured and over 600 houses damaged • China: over 200 houses damaged in Hainan province.
• Over the next 24 h moderate to locally heavy rain may affect most of Vietnam, including the areas already affected.

INDIA
• Heavy rain is still affecting several areas of the country, causing floods.
• In August, so far, 48 people died and over 20 750 were evacuated.
• Over the next 24 h more heavy rain may affect several areas of the country, including the areas already affected.

SUDAN
• Heavy rain has continued to affect the country causing floods.
• According to official reports 114 people have died, 161 700 people have been affected and 25 500 homes have been damaged.
• Over the next 24 h moderate rain may affect most of the country, including the areas already affected.

BURKINA FASO
• Heavy rain and strong winds have been affecting the country over the past few weeks, especially the capital Ouagadougou, causing flash floods.
• According to official reports, there were 15 dead and 35 people injured. Some health care facilities are currently without access.
• Over the next 24 h moderate rain may affect most of the country, including the areas already affected.
