This map illustrates satellite-detected areas of potentially damaged zones on the North Coast of Efaté Island in Vanuatu. Using imagery collected by the WorldView-2 satellite on 16 March 2015, UNOSAT identified zones with potential damage caused by Tropical Cyclone Pam. UNOSAT estimates that approximately a total of 3,700 damaged buildings are located in these zones; 85% are likely residential buildings, 10% are likely commercial buildings and 5% are mainly public buildings. This is a preliminary analysis and has not yet been validated in the field. Please send ground feedback to UNITAR / UNOSAT.
