Turkey Earthquake - Turkish Humanitarian Response (as of 23 October 2011)

Attachments

  • 3 million Turkish Lira allocated to the emergency relief operation.
  • 2,398 search & rescue personnel and 12 search dogs are in the aected area.
  • 355 vehicles and heavy lifting equipment, 108 ambulances, 30 generators, 95 portable WCs, 6.377 tents,16.888 blankets, 425 sleeping bags, 21 portable kitchens and other non-food items have been delivered in addition to 500 food packages.
  • 3 military planes have been shuttling between Ankara and Van carrying personnel and equipment.
  • Coordinators deployed to Ankara Esenboða, Ýstanbul Atatürk and Ýzmir Adnan Menderes airports to facilitate response operations.
  • Emergency centers will work 24/7 to carry out search-rescue, temporary sheltering, debris removal, medical and psychosocial support.
  • The Turkish government has so far not requested international assistance.
