This map illustrates moderate damage in two locations of the Aleppo Citadel caused by the 6 February 2023 earthquake, as detected by a Pleiades Neo very high-resolution satellite image acquired on 8 February 2023. In a preliminary analysis, UNOSAT has detected moderate damage to the Ottoman Mill tower and an area of the citadel where remains of Ottoman-era streets and dwellings are located.
This preliminary analysis is supported by Rapid Earthquake Damage Assessment carried out by Syrian Directorate-General of Antiquities & Museums (DGAM), with field photo reference in the map.
