Republic of South Sudan: IDP Sites in Flood Risk Area as of 28 January 2014

IDP site locations were overlayed on a 1 in 5 year flood zone from the Global Risk Data Platform. The sites in the zone were identified as being at risk of flooding. The population at risk of flooding was defined as the population living in the 1 in 5 Year flood zone. It was calculated by getting the area of each county that is within the flood risk area multiplied by the population density of the county. The population was based on the 2008 census from the National Bureau of Statistics, projected to 2013 using an annual growth rate of 2.052%
