Summary Overview:

  • Hazard: Heavy spells of Monsoon rains hit major parts of the country by the end of week 36-2012 resulting in flash floods.

  • WHO & Health Cluster Response Plan: The Government has still not requested the UN for humanitarian assistance. The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has requested the Resident Coordinator to share the current contingency stocks available with the UN agencies. The current stocks position of WHO has been shared with OCHA. WHO is prepositioning medical supplies (Emergency Health Kits, Diarrheal disease Kits, Hygiene Kits, Aqua tabs and etc.) in the provincial hubs. Health Cluster Coordination meetings were held at the provincial levels.
