Interpretation
At midday on the 25th April 2015 Nepal was hit by a magnitude 7.9 earthquake also affecting surrounding countries. The epicentre was less than 80km from Kathmandu, the capital. Strong aftershocks reaching a magnitude of 7 .1 have further shook the area. The population has been badly affected and major damage to buildings is reported, especially in the district of Sindhupalchowk.
In the Pleiades images used in this map, acquired the 04/05/2015, affected buildings are reported. a road block and an emergency camp are also located.
