In the South-East, the number of IDPs rose sharply from 483,500 from last week to 491,600 this week.

In Bago Region (East), armed conflict displaced over 3,000 people from at least seven villages to other areas within Nyaunglebin Township.

In Kayin State, intensified fighting, including shelling and use of heavy weapons near villages in Thandaunggyi Township on 12 July 2023 displaced 2,000 people within the township.

In Tanintharyi Region, 3,000 people from six villages in Launglon Township were displaced within the township due to intensi- fied clashes.

In Kayah State, 3,900 people from Mese Township were displaced this week, while 9,000 remain displaced across the border in Mae Hong Son Province, Thailand.
