SITUATION

• Heavy rain has been affecting several areas of the country over the past two months causing floods and landslides.

• According to national authorities, as of 28 February, 17 people died and ten people were injured in the provinces of West Java, Bali, Central Sulawesi and North Sulawesi.
They also reported that over 5 500 people have been evacuated, more than 8 600 houses have been damaged and over 24 200 people have been affected in several provinces of the islands of Sumatra, Java, Bali, Lesser Sunda, Sulawesi, Maluku, Borneo.

• As of 28 February at 7.00 UTC, BMKG has issued an early warning for severe weather, including heavy rain and strong winds, for several regions in the islands of Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan, Sulawesi as well as in West Papua region
