An earthquake of magnitude 6.9 Mw at a depth of 31 km hit the island of Lombok (West Nusa Tenggara Province, Indonesia) on 5 August at 11:46 UTC. The earthquake affected the regencies of North Lombok, East Lombok and Mataram and was also felt in Bali and Sumbawa Islands. As of 6 August, 91 people are reported dead, mostly in North Lombok. Search and rescue operations are still on-going. No international assistance has been requested so far. Source: DG ECHO, JRC
