MEXICO – TC PAINE
• TC PAINE continued moving north north-west over open waters, slightly weakening. On 20 September at 6.00 (UTC) its centre was located approx. 435 km south south-west of Punta Eugenia (Baja California State) and it had max. sustained winds speed of 110 km/h (Tropical Storm).
• Over the next 24 h it is forecast to continue moving north with a turn to the north-east approaching the western coast of Baja California state, weakening further.
• As of 20 September early morning (UTC) a Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for several areas of Baja California peninsula.

INDIA
• Severe weather, including thunderstorms and heavy rain, has been affecting the central and eastern states of the country over the past few days causing floods.
• Local media, as of 20 September early afternoon (UTC), reported 19 people have been killed, of which sixteen in Madhya Pradesh State and three in Kerala State as well as six people have been injured in the states of Madhya Pradesh and Kerala.

JAPAN, CHINA – TC MALAKAS
• TC MALAKAS continued moving north-east, making a second landfall over Kagoshima prefecture on 19 September early afternoon (UTC) and a third landfall over Wakayama prefecture on 20 September morning (UTC) as a Typhoon. On 20 September at 6.00 (UTC) its centre was located over Nie prefecture and it had max. sustained winds speed of 102 km/h (Tropical Storm).
• Over the next 24 h, it is forecast to continue moving north-east over land, weakening. Heavy rain and strong winds may affect the areas along its path. As of 20 September early afternoon (UTC), Red Warnings for storm, high waves, heavy rain and flood are in effect for several areas of Honshu, Shikoku and Kyushu islands.
• Local media, as of 20 September early morning (UTC), reported two people have been injured, several houses have been damaged, several people have been left without power, at least 100 flights have been cancelled and traffic has been disrupted in the prefectures of Miyazaki and Kagoshima. It had previously affected several parts of Taiwan causing evacuations.

CAPE VERDE – TC THIRTEEN
• TC THIRTEEN formed over the central Atlantic Ocean on 19 September. It then started moving north-west over open water. On 20 September at 3.00 UTC its center was located 489 km west southwest of Sao Filipe island (Cape Verde archipelago) and it had max. sustained wind speed of 55 km/h (Tropical Depression)
• Over the next 24 h is forecast to continue moving north-west over open water, strengthening.

GUATEMALA
• Severe weather, including heavy rain and strong winds, has been affecting the south-western areas of the country over the past few days causing floods and landslides.
• According to national authorities, as of 19 September, 78 houses have been damaged and traffic has been disrupted in Suchitepequez department
