Interpretation
Between September 18 and 19, 2017 and only a few days after hurricane Irma, another powerful tropical cyclone, Maria, also classified as a category 5 hurricane, hit several islands of the Caribbean {mainly Dominica, Guadeloupe or Puerto Rico}. The islands of Guadeloupe and Martinique endured widespread flooding, damaged roofs and uprooted trees, and two deaths are reported in Guadeloupe.
This map presents the hurricane damage assessment over Grand-Bourg area in Marie Galante, France, derived from the Pleiades imagery acquired the 20/09/2017 and 21/09/2017. Moderately affected building is reported, as well as damage on road network.
