Map Information

On 19 February at 00:00 (UTC), the centre of Tropical Cyclone WINSTON was located in the south pacific 130 km north-west of Vava'u (Tonga). After changing it's path it is forecast to continue moving throughout the group of islands of Lau, Kandavu and close to Viti Levu as an intense Tropical Cyclone, reaching wind speeds up to 250 km/h with gusts up to 300 km/h. Based on this forecast, heavy rains, strong winds and storm surge may affect Viti Levu (Fiji) on 20 February.

The present map shows the storm damage grade assessment (Grading maps) in the area of Sikituru. The thematic layer has been derived from post-event satellite image using a semiautomatic approach. The estimated geometric accuracy is 2 m CE90 or better, from native positional accuracy of the background satellite image.
